Gravity

I apologise for this. It's a bit depressing but urges forced me to write it.

I'm blaming the headache and lack of food.

Title: Gravity
Rating: R- sad theme
Characters: Just Wilson
Words: 216
Summary: Short drabble. Sad and probably a bit depressing. But what the hell....

The grass felt soft on the soles and between the toes of his bare feet. The sun was setting on the horizon, basking the rest of the landscape in liquid, orange glow, highlighting the canal and the gentle ripples in the water.

The silence was breathtaking. Most would find it eerie but for him it was comforting. His mind had been allowed to be clear.

He sat down on the grassy verge and dipped his toes into the water, disturbing the idyllic surface. He gently ran his hand through the water, letting the liquid run smoothly through his fingertips.

This is what he wanted. To be cool, calm and collected like a serene flowing stream, progressing with ease through obstacles, and flushing problems out to sea.

Instead he was a whirlpool. A self-destructive force going in never-ending circles, absorbing the same driftwood and dirt that will never get out of the aggressive swirling vortex.

He always told his patients that closing their eyes and imagining a tranquil place would help them as the inevitable closure came.

Now he was taking his own advice.

Using the balls of his feet, Wilson gently pushed the arms of the chair away from his balancing self, sending the wooden seat toppling onto the floor.

He let gravity do the rest.

Oh WOW, that was incredibly sad but so descriptive and well written. It's strange how a piece with so few words can be more moving than a full story. Thanks for sharing.

This is the product of being stuck in bed with a god-awful headache. I needed to stem my misery elsewhere.

Glad you found it moving :) Cheers for commenting and reading.

How about I see you one "Wow" and raise it a "Holy Crap." I think we have another candidate for [livejournal.com profile] sick_wilson.

Well done. Hope you feel better.

A 'holy crap'?! *swoons* I've never been given a 'holy' crap' before.

Cheers for reading and commenting.

And I'm feeling a lot better now, thanks. The small burrowing mammal seems to have left it's burrow in my brain.
