Aw man, the temperature has gone below freezing again meaning I will have to don my unflattering fleece.

BUT I....

Finally got around to watching the new episode of House after my computer stopped brainfarting itself into oblivion.

Personally, I enjoyed it. The POTW was actually quite interesting this week and held my attention instead of just drifting into decorative wallpaper like they usually do. I loved the House interrogation scene with the Jack Bauer reference and the looks Wilson got when he explained what culottes were absolutely priceless. Oh and the scene with the backrubbing was amusing, particularly Wilson's 'I'm gonna kill you, you f*cker' face.  (I need an icon of that). As usual, I found the House/Wilson parts the most entertaining. There was a distinct lack of Cuddy/Huddy business which always pleases me. The 'Thirteen, Chase and Taub messing with Foreman' subplot was a mildly entertaining diversion. Though I was a bit gutted when Foreman got them back because I was hoping that Foreman would have his inflated self-importance taken down a peg or two (Just because he can do the People's Eyebrow, he thinks he is some sort of king).
On the whole, not the best episode of the season (that accolade goes to Broken), but definitely not the worst either (I'm talking to you Teamwork). Enjoyable, entertaining and heaps of H/W slashiness so a thumbs up overall.

And I must agree with Wilson on one thing. That couch was horrible. :S

And for no reason at all...here's The Picard Song. I wish this was my mobile phone ring tone.

Edit:
I almost forgot...I'm seeing Sherlock Holmes tonight. Two healthy doses of man based slash featuring four hot men in one solitary day. :D :D 12th January 2010 is officially amazing.

Oh my, the Picard song made me giggle - I'd totally forgotten how entertaining Star Trek is, and it refreshed my little crush on Jean Luc! Picard laughing at the face he drew into the plasma, waking up next to Q and holding the sheets up to his neck... hach -thanks!!
And I agree with your recap of the epi. Not epic but really amusing H/W bits!

My friend showed me the video yesterday and I am aware there are some Star Trek lovers on my f-list so I thought they'd find it amusing as I did.

I think the hype surrounding the episode probably affected how I watched it. I'm going to try and avoid masses of spoilers for the rest of the series (if I can that is :D). The H/W bits are always the best part. It's shame it's not just purely them two for 45 minutes.

True, the global preview just took it all away, the thrill! The proposal was supposed to be the climax of their little game...

And yeah, I would be so o.k. with a House and Wilson show!

Thank god we have fanfiction where we can bend canon to our hearts content!

I thoroughly enjoyed the epi, but then again, I'm very very easy to please. I agree though--the H/W moments were by far the best. :)

Star Trek video made me laugh! I've only seen the latest movie, but my mom was a huge Trekkie so I remember seeing Picard on the TV a lot as a child...=P

Oh, and by the way: SHERLOCK HOLMES IS AWESOME. Major love for that movie! <3

Aw I'm so hyper to see Sherlock Holmes. I was meant to see it last week but I got snowed in and all the buses were taken off :( I cannot wait to see Robert Downey Jr without a shirt on. Oh yes.

I did enjoy the episode but it felt a little anti-climactic. As I said in another comment, i think I overdosed myself on spoilers and promos for it. Still the whole gay chicken thing was so funny to watch, the proposal and the singing at the end made me giggle uncontrollably.

Pretty much agree with you on all your points about last night's episode.

I actually liked Thirteen in this. Finally saw her acting behaving like a mini-House, determined to get information to help the patient by scheming (fixing the receiver, drugging, Pretty Woman) and breaking the law (running a red light). However, I had the feeling that TPTB are trying to make her more palatable and deliberately featured her character. Wish they would be more subtle.

Loved all the House/Wilson scenes, especially the proposal and the ending. I'd already decided that GY's tweets are not to be trusted so wasn't disappointed. Will add to my New Year's resolutions not to watch Global previews, and life will be good.

Saw Sherlock Holmes on Saturday with a friend. We both thought it was good, but not great. The slash was fabulous but there wasn't enough!

Thanks for the clip! Highly entertaining!

I have to agree with you. I quite enjoyed Thirteen's part in the episode even if the writers were somewhat bashing us with the 'you must like her...isn't she great?' stick. Makes a nice change from the annoying, morose plank from last series.

And I will join you in the 'not watching Global promos' resolution. I hate it when they put all the best bits in the promos.

And Sherlock Holmes was great. Me and my mate were giggling away at the slashiness on show, particularly when they were both in the prison and Watson was bickering like a wife. A throughly fun caper. :D

I clapped when Holmes said to Watson, "Admit it! Admit it! Admit it!" That and his possessiveness have to be shout-outs to House.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but everyone seems to be divided about it.

Did you like Sherlock Holmes?

I've seen a lot of people who seem a bit pissed at the gay stereotyping but I found the episode mocked the stereotyping more than reinforcing it. But I guess everyone sees things differently.

I loved Sherlock Holmes. Me and my friend are shipping Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law now because of it. It wasn't a spectacular film but as a spectacle and entertainment, it was great. And i thought Guy Ritchie did a fabulous job in directing it.
