After waiting for what seemed like several decades, I finally got round to watching the episode. Yay!
I actually have shit to say for this one.
- Lucas, Lucas, Lucas. You started out so promising, so full of life and weird vibes, but then you just went and pissed all over it. Now you're just a psycho dickweed who thought it would be amusing to trip a man with a disability and fuck with a handrail. Not big and not clever. Also, who gets that riled up over a condo? Um.. go and buy a different one, it's not like your girlfriend has much money trouble. She's the Dean of Medicine after all. Although, I'm in two minds over the sprinkler system prank. On one hand, it was a shit thing to do and cost thousands of dollars worth of damage. But on the other hand, it did give us a chance to see HL and RSL stand around with wet t-shirts.......I call it even I guess.
- I need more Taub. I cannot live on this restricted diet of Taubness. Sack 13 and her unaturally vulcan eyebrows, sack Foreman and his lack of emotion, and give me more Chase and Taub please. I adore Taub and his straight faced sarcasm, and he did not disappoint last night, cracking out some brilliant lines and looking hilariously short next to the POTW.
- At first I was wary of House's motives for hiring Foreman's brother. I thought 'oh here we go, more messing' but the more the plot progressed, the more I felt that House did that to push Foreman and his brother together, and then Wilson came in the office, said his little piece with his raised eyebrow and pointed finger, and then I saw how nice it actually was. So thumbs up for Nice!House. Also found his impression of Hercule Poirot especially amusing, considering my dad was watching Poirot downstairs while I was watching this upstairs.
- Wilson's running away from that opossum was priceless. I need a gif, icon, something... of that. As was his shoddy attempt to cover the flatscreen with a wet towel. Also semi-nekkid!House was a delight.
-Also enjoyed the fact Cuddy was far out on the periphery in this episode. This is probably in preparation for the assualt from her boobies next week. I really hope next week's episode isn't naff. I'll still watch it though.
(P.S I have a job interview tomorrow!!! Possibly be in work by the end of the month. JOY!!)

Date: 02/02/2010 05:11 pm (UTC)And they were playing 'let's hurt the cripple' again? That never gets old, apparently. House is way too nice. I swear, if someone played tricks like that to me, I'd bash their heads in with my cane.

Date: 02/02/2010 05:49 pm (UTC)Ugh...I hate Lucas now. He did mean things to House and Wilson and ruined their gorgeous flatscreen television. What a bastard.

Date: 02/02/2010 05:30 pm (UTC)I have a serious weakness for people who don't take themselves seriously, so that leaves quiet, boring Foreman and the high Vulcan priestess off my list. Yay, Taub! He had some great lines. Now we need more Chase.
Enjoyed Marcus. Hope Orlando Jones returns. Wow! Those shoulders!
And good luck with the job interview!

Date: 03/02/2010 09:02 am (UTC)Yeah Wilson stole the condo, but he didn't risk anyone's health doing so. So Lucas' pranking didn't really equate properly for me.
Still wet t-shirted HL and RSL FTW!
And thanks for the luck. XD I need a job so I hope I get it.

Date: 02/02/2010 10:41 pm (UTC)In addition I need to say that I would have loved Wilson to stand up for House and bitchslap Lucas as soon as he realised that it was him who hurt House. When Wilson realises that House could have gotten seriously injured or died in that bathtub I think I wanna see him freak and and and... I dunno. I want him to consider it, at least. I like it when Wilson considers things.
And good luck for the interview. :D

Date: 03/02/2010 09:53 am (UTC)I like that House is taking the higher ground actually. He could retalliate if he wanted to, but he is chosen not to because he's done sinking to that level. I don't think it's because of Lucas's little speech in the cafeteria. Which was stupid in itself actually. Lucas should be happy House isn't pressing charges or something.

Date: 03/02/2010 12:19 am (UTC)This episode left me very uneasy, not just because of the whole "gee, let's beat up House for laughs again this week!" vibe that it had, but because all jokes aside, what Lucas did went far beyond pranking.
House could very easily have been killed if he'd hit his head when that rail let go. The cut and bruise on his cheek were enough to show that if he'd turned a bit and landed on his temple, that would have been it. And the sprinkler system soaking everything represents a lot of potential loss. Imagine all you own being soaked, in winter. Imagine what happens if you don't get the carpet, the furniture etc., dried out or replaced. Mildew and potential allergens are the least of it. What if House's piano had been there, or any of his guitars? Ruined, destroyed, not salvagable -- he deserves this, in Lucas' mind, just because he happens to be living with Wilson?
My fear about this episode is that it's the beginning of some kind of arc in which Lucas is turned into such a twisted psycho that Cuddy finally "sees the light" and turns back to House, thereby appearing to make Huddy seem reasonable. It won't be, because obviously Cuddy doesn't mind a thing that Lucas did, which means she wants House to be hurt (or at least to be collateral damage). And if you do love someone, or even just regard them as a fellow human being, you don't do shit like that, or allow it to be done in your name or for your sake.
But the stupid show writers will probably have House immediately turn all lovey-dovey . . . Okay, enough, I'm gagging here. Sorry for ranting all over your blog!

Date: 03/02/2010 08:51 am (UTC)That's precisely why it pissed me off. I didn't mind the opossum thing, that was actually pretty inspired and rather amusing, but tripping House and 'pranking' him with something that could cause serious injury and possibly death was just stupid. His motives were twisted. Yes, Wilson 'stole' the condo, but did that put Cuddy's health at risk at all? Erm no. So how does tripping a cripple equate to somebody buying a condo from THE PUBLIC housing market?

If this happens I'll be gutted. Beyond gutted. Cuddy and Lucas deserve each other. We need to put thme on a leaf boat and puch them off towards the Arctic Circle and they can live on their own together without bothering any one.

Date: 03/02/2010 10:51 am (UTC)Cuddy and Lucas absolutely deserve each other. Alas, the baby doesn't deserve either of them -- and why in a good goddamn would Cuddy want her child anywhere near a person who thinks it's funny / appropriate to pull this kind of stuff? Obviously the show's writers aren't considering that, either! (But at this point they've probably forgotten there even is a baby involved, they do manage to conveniently forget so many other things.)
My only comfort, if you could call it that, is that the writers seem to be pretty clearly implying that House isn't going to be living with Wilson for good. They kept emphasizing in this episode that it's Wilson's loft, not House and Wilson's loft; we've never seen House's piano or more than a few boxes of his stuff; he obviously bought that hideous orange sofa rather than moving his own rather nice leather one into the loft; etc. It looks to me as if he's keeping his own place. This is one time when I would actually prefer canon to "fanon" -- if House's stuff is still at House's place, then there's less emotional loss for him to go through.
Okay, enough rambling from me . . .

Date: 03/02/2010 02:10 am (UTC)Cheers to another Taub lover! I come across too many people that don't like him. I think he's HILARIOUS! Dry wit and sarcasm rules the humour world!
Good luck at the job interview! What kind of job is it?

How can people NOT like Taub? He's brilliant and criminally underused.
And it's just a call centre job but it doesn't involve selling things or dealing with members of the idiot public...so a win/win I feel. Plus it gets me out of unemployment on off benefits. I can't afford to be picky with jobs atm.

Date: 03/02/2010 01:35 pm (UTC)Call centre job where you don't have to talk to the public sounds like heaven. The less amount of people to deal with, the better. Though I admit, sometimes I miss having a job where being annoyed or frustrated was the norm. lol!
P.S. I see that you spelled centre 'correctly.' Was it a typo or are you A. British, or B. Canadian? :D

Date: 04/02/2010 10:16 am (UTC)And it does make sense. I always notice American spellings on the web, with all the missing 'u's and the like. :D

Date: 04/02/2010 01:44 pm (UTC)Yes! They are crazy with their un-use of the wonderful letter u! I think the only thing that Canadians have gone with in the difference between British and American English is z vs. s. eg. realise/realize. I think both are termed correct here, but we tend to zed it up.

Date: 04/02/2010 06:02 pm (UTC)You would have passed through my home city on the train up to Edinburgh hehe. It's a lovely way to travel up the coast as you get the countryside and the lovely sea further up.

Date: 05/02/2010 01:06 am (UTC)It was quite a beautiful train ride. I remember being able to see the ocean from the train. So I'm guessing, Newcastle. Even if that's not your home town, it is to me now! lol! :P Only because that's the only city name I remember on the way up. :D
