Oh yeah and I found this reaallly old fic stuffed in the ye olde memory of one's PC.
Title: The Bullfrog Look
Characters: House/Wilson
Rating: PG
Summary: sick!Wilson. House is nice-ish and comforts him. No angst/no smut, just niceness.
“Evening Wilson.”
Wilson gently padded down the corridor. “Mm-mm.”
House turned and caught the sight of Wilson leaning on the kitchen work top, looking half asleep. His face was flushed, his hair damp and dishevelled. “Well you look hot tonight sweety,” House joked.
Wilson was wearing the baggiest grey pants possible and his McGill sweater. He didn't even bother to turn round to say hi and merely waved a hand in House's direction.
“Oh thanks. That's the greeting I get after a hard days work.” House limped into the kitchen area.
“Don't...” Wilson gulped a glass of water and tossed the empty glass into the sink. “Throat...killing me.”
It was only under the kitchen lights that House could see how ill Wilson actually looked.
A small film of sweat covered the oncologist's forehead, along with a pair of sleeping looking eyelids beneath. His cheeks were beetroot red and he was struggling to hold himself up right.
“Either you've swallowed a basketball or you've always had the bullfrog look and I haven't noticed.” House quipped after spotting Wilson's swollen glands. “I'm thinking the former.”
Wilson groaned and gently stumbled towards the living room couch. “I.. can't swallow. God...” He swallowed and grimaced violently, “It...hurts.”
“Have you been drinking plenty of fluids?”
“I'm not an...” Another swallow, another grimace, “...idiot. I've been drinking... and peeing like a horse.”
House helped Wilson onto the couch before fetching another glass of water. “When did this start? You were fine this morning.”
“Not long after...you left.” Wilson gently lay his head back and accepted the glass.
House nodded. “Explains why you didn't answer when I knocked on your office door.” He shrugged. “I thought you were mad at me for putting cling film over the toilet seat.”
“I was... I don't appreciate splash back in the morning.” Another glass of water was finished in one swift gulp.
“Have you taken anything?”
“Apart from a couple of headache pills... no.” Wilson grabbed the throw on the couch and wrapped himself up. “I'm freezing.”
Wilson's flushed features said otherwise. House got up and placed his hand over Wilson's forehead.
“You shouldn't be. You feel like you're burning up.” House hobbled to the bathroom and came back with a thermometer in his hand. “Bend over.”
Wilson weakly grinned. “I'm not bending over.” He opened his mouth, inviting House to place the thermometer under his tongue.
“101.3. No, point 4. Point 3...4...3” House squinted in the light to read the implement properly. “The point is you have a fever.”
Wilson shuffled his legs further up the couch. “Sit down mom...” He patted the spot next to his. “I'll be fine in... the morning.”
“You have strep. You'll need some meds otherwise you'll end up with a neck bigger than your own head.”
“It's late. I'll do it tomorrow okay?”
House grumbled the affirmative before sitting on the couch next to Wilson. “Jesus, who needs a fire when I have you. You could fry eggs on that forehead.”
Wilson shunted over and rested his head on House's shoulder. It was much more comfortable than the pillow which felt like a steel wool brush at the best of times.
House glanced downwards and watched as Wilson's eyes fluttered to a close. Normally he would shove Wilson off and berate him for being soppy and lame, but House didn't mind this time.
It actually felt kind of nice. He was keeping Wilson comfortable while Wilson was keeping him warm. A win-win situation for both of them.
The fever still worried him though. 101 can easily become 104 plus if not properly monitored. Having Wilson sleeping near him was probably the best thing to do.
He had noticed Wilson's mouth had dropped open which meant he was close to drifting off for the night.
House placed his hand back onto Wilson's forehead to check he wasn't getting any warmer.
The action solicited a content groan from the sleeping man below. Wilson gently nuzzled his head further into House's shoulder. “Feels nice.”
“What?”
“Your hand. Feels nice.”
Now that was soppy and lame. “I can't keep it there all night.”
“Mm-mm s'pose.”
Silence hung between them before House spoke up.
“I can keep it there a little while longer if you want.”
He felt Wilson smile against his shirt. “Yeah.”
House did so and placed his hand over the younger man's forehead.
He hoped Wilson was tired and feverish enough not to remember this in the morning.

Yeah, here via Dee's rec, too, and glad I dropped in.
Been there & done that, myself, with the throat so sore I could barely speak, swallow, or even turn my head.
