Title: Nighttime Habit
Rating: PG
Words: 266
Characters: House/Wilson
Summary: Fluffish. Set season six kind of... What does Wilson do when he can't get to sleep?
It had become a habit of his. A sneaky yet comforting habit shrouded in darkness and secrecy.
Even House didn't know. House, the ever so observant puppet master pulling the strings had become a participant without knowing it.
Wilson carefully climbed onto the left side of House's bed and lay gently facing his sleeping friend. Even in the darkness Wilson could see House was smiling, the slightly upturned edges of the mouth created gentle creases on the older man's lips. A good dream perhaps?
Wilson curled his knees up. He would lie here for an hour, watch as House's chest rose and fell, sigh as House absent-mindedly rubbed his eyes in his sleep, smile as House mumbled random words under his breath.
He had started by sitting on the chair, hidden in the dark shadowy veil in the corner of the room, but after a few nights he wanted to be closer. He wanted to feel House's warmth. He wanted to feel House's delicate, warm breaths against his skin. He wanted to tell House that just by watching him sleep, he had found a sense of peace that he thought was no longer possible.
Most of all he wanted to run his hand along House's shoulder to his face and tell him that he loved him.
Wilson glanced at the alarm clock. The green hue glowing back told him it was nearly four in the morning. It was time to go.
With care, he manoeuvred himself off the bed and padded back towards his bedroom.
He'd be back tomorrow and he'd do this all over again.

Date: 22/11/2009 04:44 pm (UTC)It is possble that House is fully aware, I would not put it past him in the slightest. I was and still am tempted to do a second bit from House's POV but I dunno yet. It works fine atm the moment the way it is I reckon.
Always glad to hear someone has enjoyed something I wrote XD And thank you for reading and commenting :D
